Vendredi 21 octobre 2022.

Beautiful and calm. We leave Corfu at 10:15 a.m. and
go southeast, towards the mainland, we will anchor in a bay a little northwest
of Igoumenitsa, the large ferry port. Short and calm crossing, we arrive at
Ormos Valtou, it is its name (ormos means bay) at half past twelve. At the
entrance to the bay we see a fish farm, as indicated on the map, but we go
further in and there, it is in the middle of nature. We see no house, no
taverna, no hotel, nothing except an old dilapidated wooden pontoon and two old
small fishing boats. We anchor in the middle of the bay in 6 m of water and the
anchor hooks well the first time. Short swim, the water does not look very
clear then we have lunch, coffee and go ashore in the tender. We go to the old
pontoon and arrive in mud. Dogs welcome us with barking but a man is there who
tells them to be quiet. Phew! We walk on a path that joins a dirt road and,
surprised, we have to pull over to the side, to let a truck pass, it is
probably going to the fish farm. The road goes up and then down to a pretty
beach, we don't swim, we did not take our bathing suits. Back at the
"mini-port", Jens has armed himself with a stick in case the dogs are
aggressive but they are no longer there and neither is the man. Quiet evening,
the night is dark and we admire the stars.
